I am a multitalented sportsman and artist.  Even though, my 1959 secondary school high jump record of 6’4” remains unbroken until now, I wish to highlight here only my ingenuity which has found expression, especially in music and sculpture.

As a musician, i have produced more than 100 records. Six of them won Gold Disc awards while four won Silver Disc Awards. It is noteworthy that my Joromi was the first Nigerian and indeed African record to win a Gold Disc award in 1965. Millions of music lovers and spectators worldwide are captivated by my songs,  dexterity on the guitar which I do not just play with the fingers as it is usually the case but also with my jaw, toes, teeth, from behind my neck and back, and then spinning it 360 degrees suspending in the air with amazing speed.

These factors explain my huge and enduring success as a musician and ipso factor on cultural tours to international festival by the federal government of Nigeria and the numerous invitations to perform at important occasions and festivals within and outside Nigeria.  In the final analysis, these factors, these alluring qualities of my music and display on stage are responsible for the long and intimidating list of honours, awards, recognitions and certificates which I have received nationally and internationally. Finally, I wish to stage that I created Akwete music and Titibiti sounds. I also composed, arranged, scored the music on manuscript sheet staff notations of NUGA Games Anthem in 2011. I founded Victor Music Academy, Benin in 1994 for the training and mentoring of budding musicians.

As a sculptor, I have used different media – fibre glass, polymer materials and alginate, mortar and steel rods – to produce works which exhibit artistry.  My works adorn various public spaces, state houses and institutions. However, among the cenotaphs, it is necessary to underline the uniqueness of the one in Yola, which, unlike all the others in Nigeria which feature only a soldier, was inspired by the concept of the armed forces comprising the army, navy and air force.  Hence the sculptural pieces representing the three branches of the armed forces are assembled in a symmetric order to reflect the reality.

As a sculptor, I founded my revelation tourist palazzo museum which is a permanent exhibition of over 100 of my works. It has become an important tourist attraction for hundreds of visitors every year. To the best of my knowledge, no similar museum exists elsewhere in Nigeria. Equally worthy of note is that I was the first artist in Nigeria (i) to sculpt a motorized kinetic sculpture and (ii) to create sculptural artificial cloning biomimetic cast.
